Below I will walk you through some tips on how to make the most of a virtual tour when looking for a home and the steps to take once you’ve found one or two that you are interested in. 

Treat the Virtual Tour Like a Real Walkthrough

Just because you can’t necessarily walk through a home in person right away doesn’t mean you should ignore the things you would be looking for if you were in the home yourself. Pay attention to things like the overall layout of the home, how bright the rooms are, where there are plugs around a room, how much storage is there – this goes for the outside of the home as well. If you are looking for something private, make sure you are looking at the exterior portion of the video and assessing what you see around the yard such as if you can see neighboring homes. If you are looking for something close to town and walkable make note of sidewalks. 

Take plenty of notes and keep your wishlist in mind to ensure you are looking for the things that are most important to you. Having notes on the properties you are most interested in can also help your real estate agent better find a perfect match for you.
