Meredith, New Hampshire is what most people picture when they think "Lake Winnipesaukee town". Meredith is a beautiful, storied vacation destination with lots going on and also lots of places to get away, including its large bay, bucolic inlets, and hidden waterfront properties. Meredith residents are the best neighbors you could ask for; everyone is friendly and relaxed. Meredith feels like a town in the sense that it has more activity than some of the other smaller Lakes Region towns. Meredith is full of unique waterfront houses, single family homes, and other real estate. Meredith businesses are local and run with care. There are lots of things to do year round in Meredith, NH including boating, fishing, shopping, leaf peeping, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, just to name a few. If you live near the center of town you'll be able to walk almost everywhere you need to go, though I'd still recommend having a car for access to everything the larger Lakes Region offers.
One of the Best Places to Live in New Hampshire
While Meredith, New Hampshire is becoming one of the more desirable lakeside resort towns, those of us who have been in Meredith, or the surrounding Belknap County, for many years love it for the many ways that it hasn't changed.
Meredith, NH has a many quaint shops and spas on Lake Winnipesaukee, such as Lady of the Lake, Personal Days Day Spa, and the Inns at Mills Fall and Church Landing.
Some of the Inter-Lakes teachers at the schools teaching our children today were our teachers when we were kids. The warmth and joy that they took in our learning is something that our own children have been able to experience in the Meredith School system. Inter-lakes School District Elementary School principal, Dr. Kelly recently was awarded NH Elementary School Principal of the Year.
